Critter Tap website privacy notice

Last updated September 9, 2026

This notice explains how Tin Comet handles information submitted through the Critter Tap website and alpha signup form.

What the alpha form collects

If you join the alpha list, the website stores:

  • Your email address.
  • Your iPhone model, if you choose to provide it.
  • Your confirmation that you are 18 or older and are signing up for yourself or as a parent or guardian.
  • Your consent to receive Critter Tap alpha-testing and release emails.
  • The consent wording version, signup date, and signup status.

The form does not ask for a child’s name, age, or email address. Please do not send that information through the form.

Why the information is needed

Tin Comet uses the information to manage the tester list, understand which iPhone models may be represented, invite selected adults through TestFlight, send alpha and release updates, and keep track of invitations or withdrawals.

Spam prevention and essential access

The website uses server-side validation and basic anti-spam checks. A one-way technical identifier may be kept briefly to limit repeated signup attempts; it is not added to your alpha signup record. The owner-only management page may use essential sign-in information to confirm that the person accessing it is authorized.

How information is protected

Signup records are stored in the website’s protected database rather than in browser storage. Access to the management page and its actions is checked on the server and restricted to the site owner. The form also validates submitted information on the server and blocks duplicate signups.

No system can guarantee perfect security, but Tin Comet limits what is collected and uses reasonable safeguards appropriate for an alpha mailing list.

Emails, consent, and deletion

Automatic emails are not being sent yet. When alpha communication begins, you can withdraw consent or ask to have your signup deleted at any time by emailing crittertap@gmail.com. Tin Comet will update or remove the record as requested, subject to any information that must be retained for legitimate legal or security reasons.

How long information is kept

Signup information is kept only as long as it is reasonably needed to manage alpha testing, release communication, withdrawals, and deletion requests. Records that are no longer needed will be removed.

About the iPhone app

This notice covers the website and alpha signup. The Critter Tap app’s data practices will be reviewed separately before release, so this notice does not make claims about what the finished app will or will not collect.
